Enrollment in the 1998-1999 school year was 1,311 students. As eighth graders, the Class of 1999 selected the school's vision: ''"Majestically, on the slopes of Haleakala, King Kekaulike High School strives in unity for excellence in learning, leading and living to enrich, empower, and elevate our students, our community, and our world."'' They also chose the school colors, black and teal ("black for Kekaulike's thunder and teal for the blue sky above the green land"), and the nickname of ''Na Ali'i'' (The Royal Chiefs) in honor of Kekaulike, who ruled on Maui from 1700 - 1736.〔 The school motto is ''Kulia I Ka Nu'u'', which means to strive for the summit.〔 The school alma mater is "The King's Heritage" by Lois Whitney. The campus boasts a tile sculpture of a ''kahili'' (a ceremonial standard marking the presence of a Hawaiian chief) by Bob Flint. In 2013, King Kekaulike High School was named one of eleven "Best High Schools in Hawaii" by US News & World Report 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/hawaii )〕 and one of ten Hawaii schools in The Washington Post's annual index of "America's Most Challenging High Schools." The Na Ali'i were the only Maui County school to receive such honors that year, though both King Kekaulike and Maui High School were recognized in the Post's 2012 index. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「King Kekaulike High School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
